News this Week

Hi everybody,

We're enjoying the nice cool weather, which has meant the fruit ripening has slowed, taking the pressure off. We're happy to welcome Nodoka (from Japan) and Johannes (from Germany) to the farm, whose enthusiastic help this week has made a terriffic difference.

We have a great special this week for yummy, juicy white peaches at only $6 kg at market, or $20 tray in the mail order shop. Gravenstein apples are also in the shop (until they run out)!

Clingstone peaches remain in season, plus white and yellow nectarines (the premium grade are gone, but we still have first and second grade available in both).
We also have five types of plums - Mariposa and Satsuma blood plums, Angelina, Greengage and Amber Jewel (not all varieties will be at each market).

Coming up in the next couple of weeks will be plenty more cling peaches, white peaches and yellow peaches, Williams pears, Gala apples and an abundance of plums. Yum.

With the help of our wonderful wwoofers, we have finally started processing this week, with batches of bottled tomatoes, tomato sauce, apricot jam and dried nectarines all done. It's so satisfying to see the pantry cupboard start to fill again. We've also enjoyed some delicious Japanese food, and are keenly anticipating German baked treats - we can't wait!

Take care, and we look forward to seeing you at market.

Katie and Hugh
